4 upcoming jazz concerts at the Peace Center


The Peace Center has added four new jazz concerts to its schedule and they will begin this fall. The concerts will include a celebration of the Harlem Renaissance, a postmodern Christmas, Grammy Award-winning Branford Marsal and a tribute to Nat King Cole and the Ladies of Song by John Pizzarelli and Catherine Russell.

Harlem 100: Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance

When: Oct 14, at 7:30 p.m.

Harlem 100 will recreate the sounds of the Harlem Renaissance and celebrate all famous artists of the era in collaboration with the National Museum of Harlem. The concert will be conducted by Mwenso & the Shakes and will feature a variety of jazz singers and tap dancers. Tickets will vary from $ 15 to $ 45

A very postmodern Christmas

When: November 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Postmodern Jukebox will be in town to give modern Christmas music a swing and jazz twist in this vintage-style celebration.

Tickets will range from $ 35 to $ 65.

An evening with Branford Marsalis

When: January 15, 2020, at 7:30 p.m.

Grammy winner Branford Marsalis will grace Peace Hall with his family quartet,

The Branford Marsalis Quartet. They will play original and classical jazz compositions. Tickets will range from $ 15 to $ 55.

John Pizzarelli & Catherine Russell: Tribute to Nat King Cole and the Ladies of the Song

When: March 19, 2020, at 7:30 p.m.

John Pizzarelli and Catherine Russell will pay tribute to Nat King Cole and iconic singers from his TV show, including Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee and Carmen McRae. Pizzarelli and Russell will perform Cole’s memorable hits as well as some of the classic ladies songs that appeared on his show. Tickets will range from $ 25 to $ 45.
