Ice skating at Huntington Beach Pier Plaza

Huntington Beach will be hosting a Surf City Winter Wonderland rink at Pier Plaza, starting in late November.

Prices are $ 15 for general admission and $ 5 for skate rental. Group packages are available.

Lagoon live! at the Museum

Laguna Beach Live! brings Duo Apollon on stage for their monthly chamber music concert in collaboration with the Laguna Art Museum on Thursday, October 14.

Duo Apollon includes guitarist Aaron Haas and soprano singer Anastasia Malliaras.

The concert will take place at the Laguna Art Museum at 7 p.m., with doors opening one hour before the event. Admission is $ 13 for adults, $ 11 for seniors and students, and museum members enter free.

Reunion for Newport Harbor High is next weekend

The Newport Harbor High School Alumni Association. will host a high school 90th anniversary celebration on the weekend of October 15th.

The high school opened in 1930 and organizers had planned to celebrate its 90th year of operation in the fall of 2020, which has been postponed due to COVID-19.

The event will begin with a tailgate dinner and football game on Friday, followed by a screening of the association’s documentary “The Tower” on Saturday from 11am.

Applications are open for Oil Spill Cleanup Volunteers

Volunteers interested in helping clean up the Orange County shoreline following the oil spill that happened last weekend can now request to do so at or call (800) 228-4544.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, able to lift up to 25 pounds, and be prepared to follow county public health procedures regarding COVID-19.

The Holiday Shop opens this weekend at Roger’s Gardens

It’s Christmas in October for Roger’s Gardens in Corona del Mar. The Home and Garden Center is opening its holiday shop for the year, starting this weekend.
