August 12-13 – Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival in Southfield

Southfield, MI – The town of Southfield will host the 6e Annual Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival Friday, August 12 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 13 from 3 to 10:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Southfield Municipal Campus, 26000 Evergreen Road.

The free two-day outdoor event will feature the best in live music, food trucks, boutique vendors and a beer and wine tent as well as a Jazzy Roll Bike cruise and prize giving for all of his accomplishments to a legendary artist.

Saturday, August 13 will begin with a morning of fitness and fun for the whole family from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Southfield Municipal Campus with a Jazzy 5K Walk at 8 a.m., a Jazzy Roll Bike Cruise at 8 a.m. 30, the High-Stepping Majorettes at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Jazzy Diva Hula Hoop workout at 10:00 a.m.

The Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival is free and open to the public. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. VIP parking will be available at the Southfield Municipal Campus for $10 in the North and South parking lots. Proceeds from the parking fund will benefit the Friends of Public Arts of Southfield. A variety of food will be available for purchase from several food trucks in addition to boutique vendors offering unique products for sale.

The Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival won the Cultural Entertainment Showcase in the National Civic League’s 72n/a Annual All-America City Awards (AAC) in 2021. As an AAC National Finalist, the City of Southfield submitted the Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival to participate in the showcase where communities showcased top local and national talent, including Grammy-award winners and best-selling artists. The Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival won the most online votes out of 60 total entries nationwide.
