There’s no shortage of events and activities this weekend in Carson City. The busy schedule includes some of the community’s summer must-sees, such as the Capital City Brewfest, the Jazz and Beyond Festival, and the return of general season trains by the V&T Railway Commission. Capital City Brewfest, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday August 28
Say bravo! More than two dozen brewers and distillers are expected to hit Curry Street, with live music playing on McFadden Plaza, for this annual summer event, the main fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Carson City. The money raised helps fund the organization’s scholarships and other community projects. Tickets cost $ 35 in advance and $ 40 at the door. Go here and here for more information.

Outlaw Flat Trac race, Friday August 27 and Saturday August 28
Get ready for some roaring action with the Outlaw Flat Trac Motorcycle Races that take place at Fuji Park. The Ametuer races will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the evening program will begin at 7 p.m. departments. The cost of tickets is $ 20 in advance and $ 25 on the day of the event. Those who buy an adult ticket on Friday evening receive free entry for a child. Go here and here for tickets and information.

The Western Nevada Musical Theater Company returns with a weekend performance, “Home Again!”
Returning this year for their debut show, the Western Nevada Musical Theater Company presents “Home Again!” one weekend only, from August 27 to 29. It’s an exciting show that celebrates the comeback of Broadway. The main soloists, dance troupe and orchestra of the WNMTC will bring you a sumptuous selection of the best of Broadway, with selections from Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, The Prom, Something Rotten, Wicked, Mamma Mia! and several other breathtaking productions. Jazz and more at the 18th Annual Jazz and Beyond Music and Art Festival
Carson City’s 18th Annual Jazz & Beyond Music & Art Festival, presented by the Mile High Jazz Band Association, features 17 days of mostly free entertainment and over 35 performances, August 13-29, 2021. Go you here for the weekend lineup. The final performances of the Jazz & Beyond Music Festival will take place on Sunday, August 29 at Legislative Square and at the amphitheater in the capital. The public is invited to sit under a canopy of trees and bring a picnic or enjoy the on-site food-truck selections. The festival ends on a high note with the traditional Jazz & Beyond closing concert with Passing Thru (pending) at 3.30 p.m. and by the 18 Reno Jazz Orchestra musicians and guest artists Tristan Selzler at 5.30 p.m. Go here and here for more information.

Levitt AMP Carson City, 7 p.m. Saturday, August 28
Los Coast will take to The Change Companies stage at the Brewery Arts Center for the penultimate Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series event this summer. These free, family-friendly concerts are a great way to spend time with friends and family. Go here and the BAC Facebook page here for more information.

V&T Railway Rides Again, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday
All aboard! After 18 months since its last excursion, the V&T Railroad and historic No.18 engine return to the tracks for exciting and memorable round-trip trips from Carson City to Virginia City. The shortened season returns with a ceremony and festivities at Eastgate Depot in Carson City, launching regular trips on Saturdays and Sundays through October 31, followed by the return of the Polar Express this holiday season. Summer must-haves continue
Remember that some of the area’s most beloved events are continuing.
