The 2022 Dillsboro Jazz Festival will feature

Mandy Gaines and the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra

Dillsboro Arts is proud to present the 2022 Dillsboro Jazz Festival, featuring internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Mandy Gaines with the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra on June 4, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Outdoor Music Room The Porch.

The CCJO ensemble, made up of 17 members, is dedicated to the interpretation, preservation and teaching

Jazz as a living art form. Its members are some of the nation’s most eminent jazz artists and educators. The ensemble explores the works of contemporary composers

as well as those of the masters of Jazz heritage.

The music will begin at 4:00 p.m. as Mandy Gaines takes the stage with the guitarist and

CCM professor Brad Myers will bring special moments from jazz history to life as a tribute to

Rosemary Clooney and Cal Collins. Next, Mandy will perform catchy jazz standards in a

quartet setting.

Later, Cincinnati’s favorite Latin jazz ensemble, Mambo Combo, will celebrate the classic

mambo, Latin jazz and cha-cha. Mambo Combo is filled with an all-star cast

Cincinnati area musicians from Tropicoso, ZUMBA, Mambo Diablo, Salsa

Renegades and the Blue Wisp Big Band.

In the final, Mandy will join the CCJO Big Band performing jazz classics and

contemporary compositions.

  • Hillforest House Museum

    Overlooking the Ohio River in Aurora, the beautiful Hillforest Victorian House museum was built in 1855 for industrialist Thomas Graff. Its unique shape is said to be inspired by 19th century steamboats. The site has operated as a historic house museum since 1956 and is one of 11 National Historic Landmarks in southern Indiana. Hillforest opens today and hosts many special events throughout the season.   • Oak Heritage Conservancy “Butterflies and Beer”!

    Yes, you read that right — BUTTERFLIES AND BEER! Celebrate native pollinators and local brews with Oak Heritage Conservancy! Oak Heritage Conservancy is a nonprofit land conservation group that helps landowners in southern Indiana protect their property from development. We also work to bring children into nature and away from video games!

  • “Butterflies and Beer” hosted by Oak Heritage Conservancy

    Join us as we search for monarch butterflies and other pollinators at Monarch Meadows Nature Preserve, then cool off with a refreshing beer at Great Crescent Brewery in Aurora, Indiana. We will meet at 3:30 p.m. at Monarch Meadows located at 2287 Dibble Rd, Rising Sun, Indiana 47040 and explore the 85-acre preserve. Staff and volunteers will be on site from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help identify the many species and share the story of Monarch Meadows. Starting at 5:00 p.m., enjoy a cold beer at the Great Crescent Brewery and learn about the work Oak Heritage is doing in Southeast Indiana to preserve and protect land and water resources. The Great Crescent Brewery offers thirst-quenching craft beer and delicious food in a cozy setting. A portion of all dining room sales from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. will go to the Oak Heritage Conservancy. The Great Crescent Brewery is located at 315 Importing Street Aurora, IN 47001.
