Jazz concerts to celebrate newly renovated Arts District Plaza in Midtown

A major Peachtree intersection in Midtown has been transformed into a veritable gathering place, just in time for summer.

Midtown Alliance recently completed a maintenance project at the southeast and southwest corners of Arts District Plaza at 15th and Peachtree streets, including the reinstallation of Dorothy Berge’s “Sabine Woman,” a 1968 sculpture located at originally outside Colony Square.

On the southwest side, there are new lighting, plants, seating and multipurpose platforms for small performance events. In the southeast corner (in front of the 500 building in Colony Square), upgrades include communal tables serving as outdoor workspaces, landscaping, and landscaping upgrades.

Now that construction is complete, the Trilon Fountain on the corner has also been cleaned and restored.

To celebrate the upgrades, a free “Jazz on the Plaza” series takes place every Tuesday in May from 5-7 p.m. The program includes:
