Names added to list for jazz festival

The Love Supreme Jazz Festival has added a host of featured acts to the lineup for next summer’s event

The event returns to Glynde Place in East Sussex from July 1st – 3e 2022.

Among the names confirmed so far for the vast 2022 lineup is the neo-soul superstar Erykah Badu (presenting their only UK show in 2022), one of the best-selling female R&B groups of all time CCM, the American queen of soul Candi Staton and disco legends Sister sled.

A heavyweight lineup of the UK’s thriving jazz, R&B and soul scenes will include Tom Misch, Lianne La Havas, Ezra collective, Franc Moody, The All New Heavies, Emma-Jean Thackray, Matthew Halsall, Nala Sinephro and Sarathy Korwar.

The leading figures of international jazz will also be at the rendezvous with the guitarist of Blue Note Julien lage, the father of ethio-jazz Mulatu astatke and master American saxophonists Charles lloyd, Gary Bartz and Rudresh Mahanthappa. Lloyd makes his festival debut with a band featuring the guitarist Bill Frisell, Bartz to team up with the London six-piece Maisha to perform music from their acclaimed Night Dreamer Direct To Disc sessions, and Mahanthappa brings her incendiary fusion of Western and Indian traditions.

Other artists will be announced in due course, including DJs, afterparties and cabarets.

Additional festival offerings will include a wellness and yoga area, a secret swim, organized hikes through the South Downs, a host of kid-friendly activities, the return of the Lazy Bird long-table style banquet restaurant Kitchen, the VIP Supremium which will offer a range of premium benefits as well as the ability to watch exclusive artist performances, and the Jazz Lounge, which will feature a range of artist interviews, talks, panel discussions and film screenings. The festival will also see the return of an expanded Bands & Voices space, which features cabaret, spoken word and swing dance classes, and nestled in the woods, the Blue In Green space features live music and DJs. until late at night.
