New York Voices spotlights the DeMiero Jazz Festival

The 46th Annual DeMiero Jazz Festival returns to multiple locations in downtown Edmonds on March 3-4.

Venues include the Edmonds Center for the Arts, North Sound Church, and Community Christian Fellowship.

This music education event brings together over 30 jazz choirs for a non-competitive chance to perform and work with professional jazz artists. Shows, clinics and daytime master classes are open to the public free of charge.

The main show is Fridays at 7 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Tickets are available on the Edmonds Center for the Arts website and at the door. Highlight artists include the New York Voices and Emily Braden.

The New York Voices have been together for 30 years.

The New York Voices, together for more than 30 years, features singers Kim Nazarian, Darmon Meader, Lauren Kinhan and Peter Eldridge. Nazarian was recently named the new artistic director of the DeMiero Jazz Festival.

Artists will work directly with students during the day of the festival teaching masterclasses and workshops, as well as their performance on Friday evening.

In order to keep our attendees, guests, staff and volunteers as safe as possible, COVID protocol will require all attendees to provide proof of vaccination and photo ID or a negative COVID test from a lab (home testing not accepted) and masks are mandatory to wear at all times.

The DeMiero Jazz Festival is a non-profit organization and relies on community support, sponsorships and donations for its funding.
