Portugal’s Iconic World Music Event, MED Festival, Announces Impressive Lineup for 2022
The 18th edition of the MED Festival will take place from June 30 to July 3, 2022, in the medieval historic center of Loulé in southern Portugal. The MED Festival is one of the biggest world music festivals in Europe. In addition to the best international and Portuguese artists, the festival also includes gastronomy, fine arts, street performances, crafts, dance, workshops and much more, with the aim of spreading the different cultures around the world.

The government of the city of Loulé created the MED Festival in 2004 with the aim of promoting cultures from all over the world, with particular emphasis on world music. About 576 music groups have participated in the 17 editions of the MED Festival, representing 52 countries. Past highlights include performances by Buena Vista Social Club, Goran Bregovic, Jimmy Cliff, Solomon Burke, Amadou & Mariam, Rokia Traore, Kimmo Pohjonen and Bajofondo Tango Club.
