Saratoga Jazz Festival announces lineup

The lineup has been announced for the 45th Annual Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival in Saratoga Springs, NY, to be held Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26. Headliners on both stages at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center include Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Robert Glasper, Galactic, Ledisi, SuperBlue with Kurt Elling and Charlie Hunter, Eliane Elias, Matthew Whitaker, and more. The full list of artists is below. Produced by famed jazz impresario Danny Melnick, the festival is the fifth longest consecutive jazz festival in North America. Rightly proud of this year’s lineup, Melnick said putting it together was not without its challenges. “We booked the majority of the lineup for the canceled 2020 festival because we felt committed to the artists and they wanted and expected to play ‘the next one,'” he said. “None of us knew it would be two years later, but here we are. It was very difficult to complete the lineup last winter, because many artists had already been booked elsewhere, are on tour at other times when they’re not yet ready to travel. It’s not a cliché to say, “It’s never been like this.”
